Review Guidelines Policy
Created On: 19 February 2026
The Journal of Nutritional Research & Dietetics (JNRD) is committed to maintaining high standards of scholarly publishing through a rigorous and ethical peer review process. This Review Guidelines Policy outlines the responsibilities and expectations of reviewers participating in the journal’s double-blind peer review system.
1. Role of the Reviewer
Reviewers are expected to provide an objective, independent, and constructive evaluation of assigned manuscripts. The primary purpose of peer review is to assess the scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance of the manuscript, while offering feedback that helps improve the work and supports editorial decision-making.
2. Acceptance of Review Invitation
Before accepting a review assignment, reviewers should ensure that the manuscript falls within their area of expertise, that they can complete the review within the specified timeframe, and that no conflicts of interest exist. If a conflict of interest is identified at any stage, the reviewer must inform the editor immediately.
3. Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers are encouraged to evaluate manuscripts based on originality and contribution to the field, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, appropriateness of data analysis, interpretation of results, relevance to the journal’s scope, and overall scientific merit.
4. Confidentiality and Ethical Conduct
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use the manuscript content for personal advantage. Any concerns regarding plagiarism, data fabrication, ethical approval, or other forms of research misconduct should be reported directly to the editor.
5. Review Report
Reviewers should provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based comments. Feedback to authors should be respectful and specific, identifying both strengths and areas for improvement. Confidential comments intended only for the editor may be submitted separately within the system.
6. Timeliness
Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the indicated deadline. If a delay is unavoidable, the reviewer should inform the editor as early as possible to avoid disruption to the editorial workflow.
By accepting a review assignment, reviewers agree to adhere to these principles and to support the integrity, transparency, and quality of the journal’s publication process.
