The journal follows the guidance and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Author Responsibilities

  • Originality: Submissions must be original works and must not be published elsewhere or under review in another journal.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence the work.
  • Permissions: Authors must ensure that any third-party material (e.g., figures, tables, images, or substantial text) is used with appropriate permission and proper attribution.
  • Citation Integrity: Sources must be cited accurately, and any reused content must be clearly indicated and appropriately referenced.
  • Authorship and Contributions: All listed authors must have made a substantial contribution to the study and must approve the final version prior to submission.
  • Plagiarism: Plagiarism, including improper paraphrasing or uncredited reuse of content, is unacceptable.
  • Human and Animal Research Ethics: Studies involving human participants or animals must have appropriate ethics committee approval and be conducted in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines. Informed consent must be obtained for human studies where applicable.

2. Editor Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for maintaining a fair, transparent, and ethical editorial process, including:

  • Conflicts of Interest: Editors must disclose and manage any conflicts of interest that could affect editorial judgment.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must treat all manuscripts as confidential and protect the anonymity of the double-blind review process.
  • Fairness and Impartiality: Editorial decisions must be based solely on scholarly merit and relevance to the journal’s scope, without discrimination.
  • Ethical Oversight: Editors must respond promptly and appropriately to ethical concerns raised during review or after publication.
  • Transparency: Editors must provide clear communication regarding editorial decisions and journal policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Editors must strive to maintain the integrity and quality of the scholarly record.

3. Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to support the journal’s ethical peer review standards by following these principles:

  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential and must not be shared or discussed.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline the review when necessary.
  • Objectivity and Respect: Reviews must be objective, evidence-based, and constructive, avoiding personal criticism.
  • Ethical Concerns: Suspected misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, unethical research) must be reported to the editor.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers should complete reviews within the specified timeframe and inform the editor promptly if delays occur.

4. Handling of Ethical Violations

The journal investigates allegations of ethical misconduct in accordance with COPE guidance. Where misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions may include rejection of the manuscript, publication of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction. Where necessary, relevant institutions or authorities may be informed.

5. Plagiarism and Data Integrity

Manuscripts submitted to JNRD may be screened for plagiarism and potential integrity concerns. Submissions found to contain plagiarism, manipulated data, or other forms of misconduct will be rejected, and appropriate corrective actions may be taken in line with the journal’s policies.
